In 2006, the United States exported $2.7 billion in goods to Panama, an increase of 25 percent from 2005. Twenty-three percent of those exports came from Texas ($612 million), which increased 43 percent from 2005. One-fifth of all manufacturing workers in Texas depend on exports for their jobs.
