The U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (TPA) offers tremendous opportunities for Texas’s exporters. Texas was the nation’s leader in merchandise exports to Colombia in 2007, with sales valued at $2.3 billion. In 2005, export-supported jobs linked to manufacturing account for an estimated 6.1 percent of Texas's total private-sector employment.
