Agricultural equipment accounted for less than one percent of total U.S. industrial exports to Colombia in 2006, totaling $12.8 million. The top U.S. exports to Colombia in this sector included tractors, harvesters, and mowers. Colombian tariffs range between 5 and 15 percent, with an average of 10.8 percent in 2006. For agricultural equipment, over 92 percent of U.S. industrial exports will receive duty-free treatment immediately upon implementation of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement.

With $23.5 billion in exports across the globe, Louisiana ranked 12th among the states in terms of total exports in 2006. Louisiana increased its merchandise exports $5.9 billion (34 percent) from 2002 to 2006. Two billion dollars of these exports were sold in Colombia, Peru, Panama and Korea. The pending free trade agreements would eliminate tariffs on key exports from Louisiana such as petroleum products.

Nearly 95 percent of U.S. exports of consumer and industrial products will enter Korea duty-free within three years of implementation of the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement. All remaining tariffs will be phased out over ten years with the exception of tariffs on four fish products that will be phased out over either 12 or 15 years.

In the U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement, Peru and the United States agreed to provisions on e-commerce that commits both parties to non-discriminatory treatment of digital products. Both parties have agreed not to impose customs duties on such products and to cooperate in numerous policy areas related to e-commerce.
